Lithuanian President
The President of Lithuania is the head of state and serves as the highest-ranking official in the country. This position is responsible for representing Lithuania both domestically and internationally, overseeing the government, and ensuring the constitution is upheld. The president is elected for a five-year term and can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
The current president, Gitanas Nausėda, took office in July 2019. The president plays a crucial role in shaping foreign policy, particularly in relation to the European Union and NATO, and works to promote national security and economic development within Lithuania.
