Litharge
Litharge is a yellowish powder made primarily of lead oxide, specifically PbO. It is produced by heating lead in air, which causes it to oxidize. Litharge is commonly used in the manufacturing of glass, ceramics, and as a pigment in paints.
In addition to its industrial applications, litharge plays a role in the production of lead-acid batteries and is used in some types of solder. Due to its lead content, it is important to handle litharge with care to avoid health risks associated with lead exposure.
