Lipoid Nephrosis
Lipoid Nephrosis, also known as Minimal Change Disease, is a kidney disorder primarily affecting children. It is characterized by the loss of protein in the urine, leading to symptoms such as swelling, weight gain, and fatigue. The exact cause is often unknown, but it is believed to involve changes in the immune system.
Diagnosis typically involves urine tests and kidney biopsies to confirm the condition. Treatment usually includes corticosteroids to reduce inflammation and protein loss. Most children respond well to treatment and can achieve remission, although some may experience relapses over time.
