Lipid Tumors
Lipid tumors, also known as lipomas, are benign growths made up of fat cells. They typically appear as soft, movable lumps under the skin and can occur anywhere on the body. Lipomas are generally painless and slow-growing, often requiring no treatment unless they cause discomfort or cosmetic concerns.
These tumors are usually diagnosed through physical examination and imaging techniques like ultrasound or MRI. While the exact cause of lipomas is not fully understood, they may have a genetic component, as they can run in families. Surgical removal is an option if the lipoma becomes bothersome or for definitive diagnosis.
