Ling-Temco-Vought
Ling-Temco-Vought, often abbreviated as LTV, was an American aerospace and defense company formed in 1961 through the merger of three companies: Ling Electronics, Temco, and Vought Aircraft. The company was involved in the production of military aircraft, missiles, and other defense systems, playing a significant role during the Cold War era.
LTV was known for developing notable aircraft such as the A-7 Corsair II and the Vought F-8 Crusader. The company faced financial difficulties in the 1970s, leading to its eventual bankruptcy in 1986. Despite its challenges, LTV contributed to advancements in aerospace technology and defense capabilities.
