Vought Aircraft
Vought Aircraft is an American aerospace company known for designing and manufacturing military and commercial aircraft. Founded in 1917 by George M. Vought, the company played a significant role in aviation history, particularly during World War II, when it produced the famous F4U Corsair fighter plane.
Over the years, Vought has been involved in various projects, including the development of the A-7 Corsair II and contributions to the Space Shuttle program. In 1992, Vought Aircraft was acquired by Loral Corporation, and it later became part of Northrop Grumman in 2000, continuing its legacy in the aerospace industry.
