Lighthouse of Rubjerg Knude
The Lighthouse of Rubjerg Knude is a historic lighthouse located on the northwest coast of Denmark. Built in 1899, it stands 23 meters tall and was originally constructed to guide ships safely along the treacherous waters of the North Sea. Over the years, shifting sands and coastal erosion have caused the lighthouse to be partially buried, leading to its closure in 1968.
In 2019, the lighthouse was moved 70 meters inland to preserve it from further erosion. Today, it remains a popular tourist attraction, offering stunning views of the surrounding dunes and the North Sea, as well as a glimpse into Denmark's maritime history.
