Ligamentous Pain
Ligamentous pain refers to discomfort or pain that arises from the ligaments, which are tough bands of connective tissue that connect bones to other bones at joints. This type of pain can occur due to injuries, such as sprains, or conditions that affect the ligaments, leading to inflammation or strain. Common areas affected include the knees, ankles, and wrists.
Symptoms of ligamentous pain may include swelling, tenderness, and limited range of motion in the affected joint. Treatment often involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE), along with physical therapy to strengthen the surrounding muscles and improve joint stability.
