Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina
The Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina is the second-highest executive official in the state, serving directly under the Governor. This position is elected for a four-year term and is responsible for presiding over the North Carolina Senate, casting tie-breaking votes when necessary. The Lieutenant Governor also represents the state at various events and may take on special projects or initiatives.
In addition to legislative duties, the Lieutenant Governor often plays a key role in promoting education, health, and economic development within the state. The officeholder may also step in as acting Governor if the current Governor is unable to fulfill their duties.
