Lichchhavi
The Lichchhavi were an ancient ruling dynasty in the region of present-day Nepal, particularly in the Kathmandu Valley. They are believed to have ruled from around the 3rd century to the 9th century CE. The Lichchhavi period is known for its significant contributions to art, architecture, and culture, including the construction of temples and the development of trade routes.
The Lichchhavi dynasty is also notable for its promotion of Buddhism and Hinduism, which influenced the religious landscape of the region. Their governance system was characterized by a form of democracy, where local assemblies played a role in decision-making. This period laid the foundation for the later development of the Malla dynasty.
