Libyan National Assembly
The Libyan National Assembly was established in 2012 following the end of the civil war that led to the ousting of former leader Muammar Gaddafi. It served as the country's first elected legislative body, tasked with creating laws and guiding the political transition towards democracy.
The assembly faced numerous challenges, including political divisions and security issues. It was replaced in 2014 by the House of Representatives, which was formed after a controversial election. The National Assembly's role was significant in shaping Libya's post-revolution governance and addressing the aspirations of its citizens for a democratic future.
