Libyan National Army
The Libyan National Army (LNA) is a military force based in eastern Libya, primarily led by Khalifa Haftar. Established in 2014, the LNA emerged during the ongoing conflict following the fall of the Gaddafi regime in 2011. It aims to restore order and combat various militant groups in the region.
The LNA has been involved in several key battles, including the 2019 offensive to capture the capital, Tripoli. The army is supported by various local and international actors, reflecting the complex political landscape of Libya, which includes rival factions and competing governments.
