Liberty Ships
Liberty Ships were cargo ships built during World War II to transport supplies and troops. Designed for quick construction, they were made using prefabricated sections, allowing shipyards to produce them rapidly. Over 2,700 Liberty Ships were constructed, playing a crucial role in supporting the Allied war effort.
These ships were known for their simple design and durability, often carrying essential goods like food, ammunition, and vehicles. Despite their basic appearance, Liberty Ships were vital in ensuring that military forces received the necessary resources to succeed in various theaters of the war.
