Li Hongzhi
Li Hongzhi is a Chinese spiritual leader best known as the founder of Falun Gong, a spiritual practice that combines meditation, moral teachings, and qigong exercises. He introduced Falun Gong in 1992, emphasizing principles such as truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. The practice gained popularity in China and around the world, attracting millions of followers.
In 1999, the Chinese government began a crackdown on Falun Gong, labeling it a cult and banning its practice. This led to widespread human rights abuses against practitioners, drawing international criticism. Li Hongzhi currently resides in the United States, where he continues to promote Falun Gong and advocate for the rights of its followers.
