Lexile Framework
The Lexile Framework is a system used to measure both the reading ability of individuals and the difficulty of texts. It assigns a Lexile measure, which is a numeric value, to books, articles, and other reading materials, helping educators and parents find appropriate reading materials for students. The measures range from below 0L for beginning readers to above 2000L for advanced texts.
This framework also considers factors like vocabulary and sentence length to determine a text's complexity. By matching readers with texts that fit their Lexile measures, the Lexile Framework aims to improve reading skills and comprehension over time.
