Levi Morton
Levi Morton was an American politician and businessman who served as the 22nd Vice President of the United States from 1889 to 1893 under President Benjamin Harrison. Born on May 16, 1824, in Shirley, Massachusetts, he initially worked in the banking industry before entering politics. Morton was a member of the Republican Party and held various political positions, including serving as the Governor of New York.
In addition to his political career, Morton was involved in international diplomacy, serving as the U.S. Minister to France from 1881 to 1885. He played a significant role in promoting American interests abroad and was known for his efforts in economic development. Morton passed away on 16, 1920.
