Les Halles
Les Halles is a historic marketplace located in the heart of Paris, France. Originally established in the 12th century, it served as the city's central food market for centuries, bustling with vendors selling fresh produce, meats, and other goods. The market was known for its vibrant atmosphere and was often referred to as the "stomach of Paris."
In the mid-1970s, the original market was replaced by a modern shopping complex called Forum des Halles. This new development features shops, restaurants, and a large underground transit hub, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Today, Les Halles remains a key cultural and commercial center in Paris.
