Leonor of Aquitaine
Leonor of Aquitaine was a powerful and influential queen in the 12th century. Born around 1122, she was the daughter of William X, Duke of Aquitaine. Leonor became the queen consort of Louis VII of France after their marriage in 1137, but their union was troubled, leading to their annulment in 1152.
Shortly after, she married Henry II of England, becoming the queen consort of England. Leonor played a significant role in politics, supporting her sons in their rebellion against Henry. She was a patron of the arts and is often remembered for her strong personality and impact on medieval European history.
