Leonor de Guzmán
Leonor de Guzmán was a prominent figure in 14th-century Spain, known for her role as the mistress of King Alfonso XI of Castile. Born into a noble family, she became influential in the royal court and had several children with the king, including Pedro I of Castile. Her relationship with Alfonso was controversial, especially since he was married to Maria of Portugal.
After Alfonso's death, Leonor's status shifted dramatically. She faced opposition from the king's legitimate heirs and was eventually exiled. Despite her challenges, Leonor de Guzmán remains a significant historical figure, representing the complexities of royal relationships during her time.
