Leon Panetta
Leon Panetta is an American politician and public servant who served as the 23rd Secretary of Defense from 2011 to 2013 under President Barack Obama. He previously held the position of Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 2009 to 2011. Panetta has a long career in government, including serving as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and as Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton.
Born on June 28, 1938, in Monterey, California, Panetta graduated from Santa Clara University and later earned a law degree. He has been recognized for his leadership in national security and intelligence matters, particularly during significant events such as the operation that led to the death of Osama bin Laden.
