Lemon Shark
The Lemon Shark (Negaprion brevirostris) is a species of shark commonly found in warm coastal waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. They are named for their yellow-brown coloration, which helps them blend into sandy environments. Lemon sharks can grow up to 10 feet long and are known for their social behavior, often forming groups.
These sharks primarily feed on fish and invertebrates, using their keen sense of smell to locate prey. Lemon sharks are also notable for their ability to tolerate varying salinity levels, allowing them to inhabit both saltwater and brackish environments, such as estuaries and mangroves.
