Leichtes Maschinengewehr 08
The Leichtes Maschinengewehr 08, or LMG 08, was a light machine gun developed in Germany during World War I. It was designed to provide infantry units with a portable and effective automatic weapon. The LMG 08 was based on the earlier MG 08 but was modified for easier handling and mobility on the battlefield.
Weighing around 12 kg, the LMG 08 used the same 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge as its predecessor. It featured a water-cooled system, which allowed for sustained fire without overheating. The weapon was typically mounted on a bipod for stability and was used by German forces throughout the war.
