Left Ventricle
The left ventricle is one of the four chambers of the heart, located on the left side. Its primary function is to pump oxygen-rich blood to the rest of the body through the aorta. The walls of the left ventricle are thick and muscular, allowing it to generate the high pressure needed to circulate blood effectively.
This chamber receives blood from the left atrium, which collects oxygenated blood from the lungs. Once filled, the left ventricle contracts, pushing the blood out into the systemic circulation. Proper functioning of the left ventricle is essential for maintaining overall cardiovascular health.
