Latvian Lakes
Latvian lakes are a significant feature of the country's natural landscape, with over 12,000 lakes scattered across the region. The largest lake is Lake Balaton, which covers an area of about 370 square kilometers. These lakes are known for their clear waters and diverse ecosystems, providing habitats for various species of fish and birds.
Many of the lakes in Latvia are popular for recreational activities such as swimming, fishing, and boating. Gauja National Park and Kemeri National Park are two areas where visitors can enjoy the beauty of these lakes while exploring the surrounding nature trails and wildlife.
