Latvian First League
The Latvian First League is the second tier of professional football in Latvia. It operates under the governance of the Latvian Football Federation and features clubs from across the country. The league serves as a platform for teams to compete for promotion to the top division, known as the Latvian Higher League.
Founded in 1992, the Latvian First League has seen various clubs participate over the years. The season typically runs from spring to autumn, with teams playing each other in a round-robin format. The top teams at the end of the season earn the opportunity to move up to the higher league.
