Late Jurassic
The Late Jurassic period, occurring from about 163 to 145 million years ago, is known for its diverse ecosystems and the dominance of dinosaurs. During this time, the supercontinent Pangaea began to break apart, leading to the formation of new oceans and coastlines. This geological change created various habitats that supported a wide range of plant and animal life.
Dinosaurs such as Brachiosaurus and Allosaurus thrived during the Late Jurassic, alongside early mammals and flying reptiles like Pterosaurs. The climate was generally warm and humid, promoting lush vegetation, including conifers and ferns. This period set the stage for the evolution of many species that would later dominate the Earth.
