Larsen C
Larsen C is a large ice shelf located on the eastern side of the Antarctic Peninsula. It is part of the larger Larsen Ice Shelf system and has been closely monitored due to its significant size and the potential impact of its melting on global sea levels.
In July 2017, a massive iceberg, known as A68, broke off from Larsen C, measuring about 5,800 square kilometers. This event raised concerns among scientists about the stability of the ice shelf and the effects of climate change on polar regions.
