Laodicea on the Lycus
Laodicea on the Lycus was an ancient city located in what is now western Turkey. Founded in the 3rd century BCE, it was named after Laodice, the wife of King Antiochus II. The city was known for its wealth, thriving textile industry, and production of a special black wool.
