Langue d'oc
Langue d'oc is a group of Romance languages spoken in the southern regions of France, Italy, and Spain. It is also known as Occitan, which includes several dialects such as Provençal and Gascon. Historically, it was widely used in literature and culture during the Middle Ages, particularly in the Troubadour tradition.
The term "Langue d'oc" distinguishes it from Langue d'oïl, the language spoken in northern France. While its use has declined over the centuries, efforts are being made to revive and promote Occitan culture and language through education and community initiatives.
