Languages of Bolivia
Bolivia is a multilingual country with a rich tapestry of languages. The official languages are Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara, reflecting the diverse cultural heritage of its people. Approximately 60% of the population speaks Spanish, while Quechua and Aymara are widely spoken among indigenous communities.
In addition to the official languages, Bolivia recognizes 34 other indigenous languages, including Guarani and Chiquitano. These languages are vital for preserving the cultural identity of various ethnic groups. The Bolivian government promotes linguistic rights and education in native languages to support this diversity.
