Langstroth hive
The Langstroth hive is a type of beehive designed by Reverend Lorenzo Langstroth in 1851. It features removable frames that allow beekeepers to easily inspect and manage the hive. This design promotes better bee health and honey production by providing adequate space for the bees to build their comb.
The hive consists of stacked boxes, known as supers, which can be added or removed as needed. Each super contains frames where bees store honey and raise their young. The Langstroth hive is widely used in modern beekeeping due to its efficiency and ease of use, making it a popular choice among both hobbyists and commercial beekeepers.
