Hives
Hives, also known as urticaria, are raised, itchy welts on the skin that can vary in size and shape. They occur when the body releases histamine in response to allergens, stress, or other triggers. Hives can appear anywhere on the body and may last for a few hours or several days.
The condition can be acute, lasting less than six weeks, or chronic, persisting for longer periods. Treatment often involves antihistamines to relieve itching and reduce swelling. Identifying and avoiding triggers is also important in managing hives effectively.
