Lake Menteith
Lake Menteith is a freshwater lake located in central Scotland, near the town of Stirling. It is the only lake in Scotland referred to as a "lake," as most bodies of water are called "lochs." The lake covers an area of approximately 1,200 acres and is known for its scenic beauty and diverse wildlife.
The lake is popular for various recreational activities, including fishing, boating, and birdwatching. It is home to several islands, with Inchmahome being the most notable, featuring the ruins of a 13th-century monastery. Lake Menteith is also part of the Trossachs National Park, attracting visitors year-round.
