Lake Maracaibo Bridge
The Lake Maracaibo Bridge, officially known as the General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge, spans the Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela. Completed in 1962, it is one of the longest bridges in Latin America, measuring approximately 8.7 kilometers (5.4 miles) in length. The bridge connects the city of Maracaibo to the eastern regions of the country, facilitating transportation and trade.
The bridge features a cable-stayed design and is an important infrastructure project for Venezuela. It plays a crucial role in the local economy by improving access to various industries, including oil, which is significant in the Lake Maracaibo area.
