Lake Kremasta
Lake Kremasta is the largest artificial lake in Greece, created in the 1960s by the construction of the Kremasta Dam on the Achelous River. It covers an area of approximately 78 square kilometers and plays a crucial role in hydroelectric power generation and irrigation.
The lake is surrounded by picturesque mountains and is home to diverse wildlife, making it a popular spot for fishing and outdoor activities. Its waters are also used for agricultural purposes, supporting the local economy and providing water to nearby regions.
