Lake Kelimutu
Lake Kelimutu is a volcanic lake located on the island of Flores in Indonesia. It is famous for its three distinct crater lakes, each with varying colors that change due to volcanic activity and mineral content. The lakes are situated within the Kelimutu National Park, which is a popular destination for tourists and nature enthusiasts.
The three lakes are named Tiwu Ata Mbupu, Tiwu Ko'o Fai, and Tiwu Ata Polo, each associated with different local beliefs. The area is not only a geological wonder but also holds cultural significance for the local Lio people, who view the lakes as sacred.
