Lake Copais
Lake Copais is a large, ancient lake located in central Greece, near the town of Livadeia. Historically, it was known for its rich agricultural land and was surrounded by fertile plains. The lake played a significant role in the local economy, providing water for irrigation and supporting various forms of wildlife.
Over time, Lake Copais has undergone significant changes due to human activity, including drainage projects in the 19th century aimed at reducing flooding and improving agriculture. Today, remnants of the lake's former size can still be seen, and it remains an important ecological and historical site in the region.
