Laggards
Laggards are individuals or groups who are slow to adopt new ideas, technologies, or trends. They often prefer traditional methods and are resistant to change, which can be due to various factors such as skepticism, lack of resources, or comfort with the status quo. In the context of innovation, laggards are typically the last to embrace new products or practices.
In the technology adoption lifecycle, laggards represent the final segment after early adopters, early majority, and late majority. They usually make up about 16% of the population and may only adopt new innovations when they become mainstream or necessary, often waiting until the benefits are well established and risks minimized.
