Laci Peterson
Laci Peterson was a 27-year-old woman who gained national attention after her disappearance in December 2002. She was eight months pregnant at the time, and her case drew significant media coverage, highlighting issues related to missing persons and domestic violence.
Her husband, Scott Peterson, became a prime suspect in her disappearance. In April 2003, Laci's remains and those of her unborn son, Conner Peterson, were found in San Francisco Bay. The case led to a highly publicized trial, resulting in Scott's conviction for first-degree murder in 2004.
