Lachgas (Anesthesia)
Lachgas, also known as nitrous oxide, is a colorless and odorless gas commonly used in anesthesia to help patients relax and reduce pain during medical procedures. It works by depressing the central nervous system, providing a calming effect while allowing patients to remain conscious and responsive.
In addition to its use in dentistry and surgery, Lachgas is also utilized in emergency medicine and for pain relief during childbirth. It is typically administered through a mask or a mouthpiece, and its effects wear off quickly once the gas is no longer inhaled, making it a safe option for many patients.
