LZ 127 Hindenburg
The LZ 127 Hindenburg was a German airship, or zeppelin, that operated from 1936 to 1937. It was one of the largest flying objects ever built, measuring about 804 feet long. The Hindenburg was designed for passenger travel and could carry up to 72 people, offering luxurious accommodations for its time.
The airship was primarily used for transatlantic flights between Germany and the United States. However, its service ended tragically when it caught fire while landing in Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 6, 1937, resulting in the deaths of 36 people and marking the decline of airship travel.
