The band gained popularity in the early 1990s with hits like "Pretend We're Dead" and "Shove." L7 is recognized for their powerful live performances and contributions to the riot grrrl movement, which focused on women's empowerment in music. They disbanded in 2001 but reunited in 2014, continuing to tour and release new music.
