Kuyil
The Kuyil, also known as the Indian Cuckoo, is a bird found primarily in the Indian subcontinent. It is recognized for its distinctive call, which sounds like "kuyil," and is often associated with the arrival of the monsoon season. The bird has a slender body, long tail, and a slightly curved beak, typically displaying a brownish or grayish plumage.
Kuyils are brood parasites, meaning they lay their eggs in the nests of other birds, such as Babblers or Warblers. The host birds then raise the Kuyil chicks, often at the expense of their own offspring. This behavior is a fascinating aspect of their life cycle and contributes to their unique ecological role.
