Kurmanbek Bakiyev
Kurmanbek Bakiyev was a politician from Kyrgyzstan who served as the country's president from 2005 until 2010. He came to power after the Tulip Revolution, which ousted the previous president, Askar Akayev. Bakiyev initially gained popularity for his promises of reform and anti-corruption measures.
However, his presidency faced significant challenges, including economic difficulties and allegations of authoritarianism. In April 2010, widespread protests against his government led to his ousting. Following his removal, Bakiyev fled to Kazakhstan and later settled in Belarus, where he lived in exile until his death in 2022.
