Ku-band
Ku-band is a segment of the electromagnetic spectrum in the microwave range, typically covering frequencies from 12 to 18 gigahertz (GHz). It is widely used for satellite communications, including television broadcasting, internet services, and military applications. The Ku-band allows for high data transmission rates and is less affected by weather conditions compared to other frequency bands.
This frequency range is divided into two parts: the uplink band (14 to 14.5 GHz) and the downlink band (11.7 to 12.2 GHz). Ku-band satellites, such as those operated by Intelsat and SES, provide essential services for both commercial and government users, enabling global connectivity and communication.
