Krewe of Endymion
The Krewe of Endymion is one of the largest and most popular krewes in the annual Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans. Founded in 1967, it is known for its elaborate floats and vibrant parades. The krewe's theme changes each year, and its parade typically features a variety of colorful costumes and throws, such as beads and trinkets.
Endymion's parade takes place on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday and attracts thousands of spectators. The krewe is named after the mythological figure Endymion, a handsome shepherd loved by the moon goddess Selene. The event culminates in a grand ball, showcasing the krewe's royalty and celebrating the spirit of Mardi Gras.
