Komi-Zyryan
Komi-Zyryan is a Uralic language spoken primarily by the Komi people in the northeastern part of European Russia. It is one of the two main dialects of the Komi language, the other being Komi-Permyak. The language has its own unique script, which is based on the Cyrillic alphabet, and it is used in various forms of media and education within the Komi region.
The Komi-Zyryan language is an important part of the cultural identity of the Komi people. Efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote the language, especially among younger generations, as it faces challenges from dominant languages like Russian. Language revitalization initiatives include educational programs and cultural events that celebrate Komi heritage.
