The Kolyma Yukaghir are an indigenous people living in the northeastern part of Russia, primarily in the Kolyma region. They speak the Yukaghir language, which is part of the Yukaghir language family. Traditionally, their lifestyle has included hunting, fishing, and gathering, adapted to the harsh Arctic environment.
Today, the Kolyma Yukaghir face challenges such as cultural assimilation and loss of language. Efforts are being made to preserve their unique heritage and promote the use of the Yukaghir language among younger generations.
