Kodomo no Hi
Kodomo no Hi, or Children's Day, is a Japanese holiday celebrated on May 5th each year. It is a day dedicated to honoring the health and happiness of children, particularly boys. Families display koinobori, which are colorful carp streamers, to symbolize strength and success, as carp are known for their ability to swim upstream.
On this day, families also celebrate by displaying samurai dolls, known as musha ningyo, which represent bravery and courage. Traditionally, parents wish for their children's growth and prosperity, making Kodomo no Hi a joyful occasion filled with various festivities and activities for children.
