Kodály
The Kodály method is a music education approach developed by Hungarian composer and educator Zoltán Kodály. It emphasizes the importance of singing and ear training, using folk songs and simple melodies to teach musical concepts. The method aims to develop a child's musical abilities from an early age, fostering a lifelong appreciation for music.
Central to the Kodály method is the use of hand signs, known as Curwen hand signs, which help students visualize pitch and improve their sight-singing skills. The approach also incorporates rhythm exercises and the use of instruments, making music learning engaging and accessible for all students.
